Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse bears a central text panel with the issuer's title 'EL ESTADO DE BUENOS AYRES' in large arched lettering across the top, beneath which the denomination 'Cinsuenta Pesos Moneda Corriente' is rendered in bold script. Two small oval vignettes flank the central field on the left and right, each enclosing a classical allegorical group figure, with the numeral '50' repeated in each corner. A dense guilloche border frames the entire note, and a manuscript date 'Mayo 25 de 1858' appears in the upper left area alongside a handwritten serial number and two manuscript signatures below the central text.

Opmerkingen

The Estado de Buenos Ayres operated its own currency system entirely separate from the Argentine Confederation during the period of political rupture that followed the 1852 Battle of Caseros. Buenos Aires refused to ratify the new federal constitution and functioned as an independent state until reunification in 1860 — this note circulates within that window.

PS433 is among the earlier issues of the Banco y Casa de Moneda de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. The cotton substrate was a deliberate choice against counterfeiting in a region where reprographic capacity was limited but fraud endemic.
