Beschrijving voorzijde	Right-facing draped bust of Kwame Nkrumah occupying the central field, modeled in high relief by sculptor Cecil Thomas, whose initials 'C.T.' appear incuse below the truncation. The surrounding legend reads 'CIVITATIS GHANIENSIS CONDITOR' (Founder of the State of Ghana) along the upper periphery, with 'KWAME·NKRUMAH' arching along the lower periphery, flanked by two five-pointed stars. The design is bordered by a raised rim.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A large five-pointed star dominates the central field, with the date '19 65' split across the lower left and lower right points of the star respectively. The denomination 'FIFTY' arches across the upper field and 'PESEWAS' curves along the lower field, with a pellet on each side flanking the star at mid-height. The design is enclosed within an inner beaded border and an outer wavy decorative border, all contained within a raised rim.
