| 正面描述 | Fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The engraver's initials IRB appear truncated at the base of the neck. The peripheral legend reads ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF JERSEY, with FIFTY PENCE to the left and the date 2017 at the base, all separated by raised dots. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. |

| 背面描述 | Facing three-quarter portrait of Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener, depicted in full military uniform with epaulettes, medals, and decorations visible at the chest. To the left of the portrait, a royal cypher within a laurel wreath occupies the lower field. A bold block-lettered inscription LET DUTY BE YOUR WATCHWORD fills the left portion of the field, serving as Kitchener's celebrated wartime exhortation. The composition is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |

Jersey issued a lengthy series of WWI centenary 50 pence pieces between 2014 and 2018, each commemorating a specific figure or campaign. Kitchener's inclusion was inevitable — his face had arguably done more recruiting work than any other image in British history, appearing on the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee's 1914 poster before his death in June 1916 aboard HMS Hampshire, mined off Orkney.
