Reverse description Central field bears the full-color official badge of No. 39 Squadron RAF, depicting a winged bomb with outstretched green wings upon a light blue roundel encircled by a laurel wreath, surmounted by a Tudor crown in full heraldic color. The numeral 39 appears on either side of the roundel within the wreath. A gold scroll beneath the badge bears the squadron motto DIE NOCTUQUE. The upper peripheral legend reads ROYAL AIR FORCE SQUADRONS, flanked by recessed borders, while 39 SQUADRON and ROYAL AIR FORCE appear within the badge annulus.
