| Aanvullende informatie |
Guernsey has long used its mint authority as a revenue stream, issuing commemorative 50 pence pieces on themes with no particular connection to the island. The Red Arrows, formally the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, were established in 1965 and have flown the BAe Hawk T1 since 1979. The gold plating on copper-nickel is a production shortcut common to this collector market segment — the plating is thin, and handling accelerates its loss from high contact points.
