| 背面描述 | Central field dominated by a full-color applied image of a Vickers Wellington twin-engine heavy bomber depicted in flight in three-quarter view, finished in authentic Royal Air Force wartime camouflage livery of dark green and brown upper surfaces with black undersides, with RAF roundels visible on the fuselage. The aircraft is set within a circular inner border of beaded dots against a dark field. The arc legend ROYAL AIR FORCE and the dates 1939-1945 appear prominently across the upper portion of the field, while the aircraft's designation WELLINGTON is inscribed in bold gilt lettering across the lower portion. |

Issued to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, this coin commemorates the Vickers Wellington, the twin-engine bomber that formed the backbone of RAF Bomber Command's early war offensive. In 1940, Wellingtons flew the first bombing raid on Berlin — a direct response to the Luftwaffe's accidental bombing of London — a decision that shifted German strategic focus from RAF airfields to British cities, a tactical error that arguably saved Fighter Command from collapse.
