| Descrizione del rovescio | Vibrant full-colour applied scene depicting the mortal wounding of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson aboard HMS Victory during the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805. Nelson, clad in his admiral's coat adorned with decorations and gold epaulettes, is shown collapsing on the deck and supported by two figures: a soldier in a red coat and black shako to his left, and a naval officer in a blue coat and bicorne hat to his right. The background features an engraved rendering of the ship's deck and rigging in silver relief. Above the central scene, the HMS Victory heraldic badge — featuring a crowned shield with a ship — appears in the upper field, with the inscription VICTORY below it. The denomination FIFTY PENCE is arranged along the upper facets of the heptagonal border, which is framed by a rope motif inner circle. |

HMS Victory is best known as Nelson's flagship at Trafalgar in 1805, but the ship had already been in service for three decades by then — launched at Chatham in 1765, she saw action at the Battle of Cape Spartel and the relief of Gibraltar before Trafalgar made her name permanent. The "struck by musket ball" finish references the hail of French and Spanish small-arms fire that swept her decks during the engagement, killing Nelson on the quarterdeck at approximately 1:15 in the afternoon.
Jersey's connection to the Napoleonic period is direct — the island repelled a French invasion in 1781.
