The right side and upper border of the coin are adorned with vivid red-colored Flanders poppies with black centres, a universally recognised symbol of remembrance. The war years '1914' and '1918' are prominently inscribed in large numerals to the upper centre, beneath which the commemorative legend 'THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE' and the armistice date reference 'XI.XI.XI' are inscribed in the field.
