The Isle of Man has issued commemorative 50 pence pieces with unusual frequency since the 1970s, exploiting its status as a Crown dependency with its own currency authority to produce collector-targeted issues well beyond what domestic circulation demand would justify. This piece is one of several 2020 issues in that tradition.
