Reverse description The reverse, engraved by Mike Guilfoyle, depicts a celebratory scene of jubilant figures in the foreground, one of whom holds aloft a waving flag bearing the Manx triskelion emblem. In the background to the left, a large multi-storey building — evocative of Manx civic architecture — is rendered in fine detail. A large Roman numeral I is prominently displayed in the centre of the field, serving as part of the denomination mark and a series indicator. The legend FIFTY PENCE arcs along the upper portion of the coin in raised capital letters.

Additional information

The Isle of Man has issued commemorative 50 pence pieces with unusual frequency since the 1970s, exploiting its status as a Crown dependency with its own currency authority to produce collector-targeted issues well beyond what domestic circulation demand would justify. This piece is one of several 2020 issues in that tradition.
