| Opis rewersu | The reverse, designed by Dominique Evans, commemorates the 50th anniversary of Decimal Day (15 February 1971) with a complex, layered composition evoking the pre-decimal coinage that was replaced. Fragments of pre-decimal coins are depicted in overlapping arcs filling the heptagonal field, with legible portions of legends including SHILLING and HALF visible, alongside imagery of Britannia helmeted in profile, a crowned Tudor rose, a wren, and heraldic shield elements. At the centre, a raised heptagonal cartouche bearing the inscription 1971 DECIMAL DAY in three lines serves as the focal point of the design.
