The Gold State Coach depicted here has carried every British monarch to their coronation since George IV in 1821, making it among the most continuously active ceremonial vehicles in the world. It was last used in full procession at Charles III's coronation in May 2023 — a journey of roughly one mile from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey that the coach's notoriously uncomfortable suspension made feel considerably longer, by most accounts.
Guernsey issues commemoratives under its own Crown Dependency authority, independent of Royal Mint production runs.
