The face carries extensive typeset text setting out the terms of redemption at the São Paulo State Treasury under Decree No. 5585 of 14 July 1932, together with the 'PRÓ CONSTITUIÇÃO' patriotic legend and the printer's imprint at foot. A manuscript conference signature appears below the central vignette. |

The Constitutionalist Revolution of 1932 pitted São Paulo against the Vargas federal government in a conflict that lasted roughly three months. To fund the war effort, the state treasury issued these bonuses as emergency quasi-currency — the "2nd Print" designation indicates demand outstripped the initial run, which itself speaks to the scale of the mobilization.
Companhia Melhoramentos, better known as a paper and publishing house, was an improvised but locally available choice. A São Paulo printer producing São Paulo emergency war scrip entirely within São Paulo — the logic was both practical and deliberately symbolic of the state's self-sufficiency argument against Vargas.
