背面描述	Dark blue intaglio impression on a pale ground, with the same symmetrical cross-form guilloche framework of leaf panels as the obverse, flanking a central arched guilloche underprint. The denomination 'LIRE 50 CINQUANTA' is set in large bold type within the central arch, above a red circular overprint stamp reading 'DECRETO MINISTERIALE DEL 30 LUGLIO 1896'. To the lower right, a large intaglio vignette presents the helmeted head of Minerva in classical style, surmounted by a group of allegorical figures. Anti-counterfeiting text appears at the lower centre in two columns.
