At centre, a portrait bust of the Ottoman admiral and cartographer Piri Reis, turbaned and bearded, is set within a circular medallion. The surrounding field features an intricate rendering of rhumb lines and wind roses characteristic of portolan charts, overlaid with depictions of period sailing vessels at various points. A twisted rope border frames the inner design. The commemorative dates '1513-2013' appear in the lower exergue, with the circular legend along the rim reading 'PİRİ REİS'İN DÜNYA HARİTASININ 500. YILI'.
