| 正面描述 | The Moldovan state coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a displayed eagle with wings spread, holding an olive branch in its right talon and a sceptre in its left; on its breast is a shield charged with the traditional Moldovan auroch's head, star, rose, and crescent. The date 2019 appears in the upper field above the arms, while the legend REPUBLICA MOLDOVA arcs along the left and right periphery respectively. The denomination 50 LEI is inscribed in two lines in the lower field beneath a horizontal rule, rendered against a deeply mirrored proof background. |

Bogdan I founded the Principality of Moldavia around 1359 after leading a revolt against Hungarian suzerainty and crossing the Carpathians from Maramureș with a force of Vlach settlers. He ruled until roughly 1365, long enough to establish the principality's independence but not long enough to leave many datable records — which is why his exact dates remain contested among Romanian and Moldovan historians to this day.
