| Obverse description | The gold-plated central disc features a detailed frontal view of the Presidential Office Building in Taipei, rendered in high relief. The denomination '50 KWACHA' appears in the lower portion of the gold centre, below the building. The surrounding silver-plated ring bears the legend 'REPUBLIC OF CHINA' arching across the top and 'BANK OF MALAWI' along the bottom, separated by decorative rosette ornaments.
