| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed in blue-grey on plain paper, the note is framed by an ornate border with edelweiss floral motifs along the lower and side margins, and two small landscape vignettes in the upper corners depicting Alpine woodland scenes. The title 'Gutschein d. Marktgemeinde Rauris' is set in Gothic script within a decorative cartouche at the top. A central text block in German script sets out the conditions of issue, dated 15 August 1920, with the denomination '50 HELLER' in bold numerals at lower left and right; the overprint 'III. Auflage' (third issue) appears in blue across the lower centre. |

Rauris is a small mining settlement in the Hohe Tauern, historically known for gold extraction that peaked in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. By 1920, it was issuing Heller notgeld for the same reason as hundreds of other Austrian municipalities that year — the collapse of small-denomination coinage circulation after the war left local trade functionally impossible without improvised substitutes.
The single Lammerer signature suggests authorization by a local official rather than a formal banking counter-signature arrangement, which was typical for smaller Salzburg market towns issuing their own emergency paper rather than relying on district schemes.
