The central government's inability to maintain adequate coin circulation forced hundreds of small communities to print their own emergency scrip — Obertrum, a small market town in the Salzburg district, was among thousands that did so between 1919 and 1921. L. Pech is otherwise obscure in the notgeld literature; the name appears on only a handful of Salzburg-region issues.
