背面铭文	Die Gemeinde Lichtenau bei Haslach in Oberösterreich gibt laut Beschluß vom 16. Mai 1920 Gutscheine im Gesamtbetrage von 30.000 Kronen aus und haftet für die Verbindlichkeit, diesen Gutschein vier Wochen nach öffentlicher Bekanntgabe bei der Gemeindekasse in gesetzl. Bargeld einzulösen. Lichtenau, am 14. Juli 1920. Der Bürgermeister: Hugo Gumpenberger. Die Nachmachung wird gesetzlich bestraft.

备注	Lichtenau bei Haslach is a small textile-mill village in the Mühlviertel, and this note is a product of the Notgeld wave that swept Austrian municipalities between 1920 and 1922 — a direct consequence of the chronic small-coin shortage that followed the collapse of the Habsburg monetary system. Communes issued their own emergency fractions because the new Austrian Republic simply could not mint enough low-denomination coinage fast enough to meet everyday transaction needs. Hugo Gumpenberger's signature as Bürgermeister gives this piece its legal standing. Printed in Linz by a regional press rather than one of the Vienna specialists, which is typical of Upper Austrian Notgeld from this period.
