Opmerkingen

One of thousands of Austrian Notgeld issues from the postwar inflation years, but this one carries a precise printing credit — Druck Hiebl in Grein, a small Upper Austrian market town on the Danube. Local print shops across Austria took on these emergency municipal issues as commercial work when the central banking system was effectively unable to supply adequate small denomination coinage. Hiebl's involvement places this firmly in regional trade rather than any specialized security printing tradition.

The issuing authority, Marktgemeinde Klamm, held the legal status of a market commune — a distinction that still carried administrative weight in early republican Austria.
