| 表面の説明 | Printed in green on cream paper, the obverse is dominated by a large oval vignette at centre illustrating a panoramic view of Klamm market town, with a bridge over a stream in the foreground, traditional buildings and a church tower at mid-ground, and a ruined castle on the rocky heights behind, all framed by a decorative border with rose motifs at the corners and top. The denomination numeral '50' appears in bold type within square cartouches at lower left and right. A curved ribbon banner at the base bears the town name 'Markt Klamm' in ornate lettering. |

One of thousands of Austrian Notgeld issues from the postwar inflation years, but this one carries a precise printing credit — Druck Hiebl in Grein, a small Upper Austrian market town on the Danube. Local print shops across Austria took on these emergency municipal issues as commercial work when the central banking system was effectively unable to supply adequate small denomination coinage. Hiebl's involvement places this firmly in regional trade rather than any specialized security printing tradition.
The issuing authority, Marktgemeinde Klamm, held the legal status of a market commune — a distinction that still carried administrative weight in early republican Austria.
