正面描述 Bare-headed left-facing bust of Simón Bolívar occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair detail in the neoclassical style associated with the Paris Mint. The name BOLIVAR appears incuse beneath the truncation. The peripheral legend EL PODER EN LA CONSTITUCION arcs along the upper rim, while the fineness designation .900, the assayer initials G.J., the letter A, and the date 1862 are arranged along the lower legend separated by decorative rosette stops.

附加信息

Ecuador's 1862 coinage was produced during a period of acute monetary instability, when President García Moreno's government was attempting to reform a fragmented currency system inherited from the Gran Colombia era. This 50 Francos pattern reflects the short-lived ambition to align Ecuador's monetary system with the Latin Monetary Union framework — a remarkable aspiration given that the LMU was not formally established until 1865. The denomination itself was never adopted for circulation.

No regular-issue 50 Francos coin ever entered production.
