| Additional information |
The Bahrain Currency Board was established in 1964 to issue a distinctly Bahraini currency following the country's monetary separation from the Gulf rupee system — a rupee zone that collapsed after India's 1966 devaluation would have made the arrangement untenable regardless. This planchet trial predates that rupee crisis and reflects the preparatory work underway before the dinar series entered full production. Planchet trials of this type were struck to verify blank specifications against intended striking pressure and feed tolerances, not for circulation or distribution.
