Obverse description The obverse features the coat of arms of Malta centrally positioned within a rope border, depicting two supporters flanking a quartered shield surmounted by a mural crown, with a scroll bearing the motto FIDUCIA FORTIS at the base. The legend CENTRAL BANK OF MALTA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 EURO appears in the lower field. The design is executed with high relief against a mirror-polished background, characteristic of proof coinage. The date of the bank's establishment, 1968, is incorporated into the composition.
