Adjacent to the legislative chamber, the Place de la Concorde is represented with its celebrated obelisk and twin fountains, the pinnacle of the obelisk and the fountains enhanced by selective gold gilding on the silver field. The legend RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE appears in the upper field. The design combines architectural portraiture with selective metal application to distinguish key symbolic elements within a unified panoramic composition. |
