| 裏面の説明 | The reverse depicts a portrait of Europa, the allegorical goddess of Europe, adorned with stars in her hair, rendered in classical style. Above the portrait, twelve euro symbols '€' are arranged in an arc, referencing the twelve stars of the European Union and the common currency. To the left of the portrait, flagpoles bearing stylized European flags are depicted in the field. The legend 'EUROPA' appears alongside the date '2011' completing the design. |

Issued as part of Monnaie de Paris's ongoing "Happy Birthday" commemorative series marking the 30th anniversary of the Fête de la Musique, a free public music festival established by Minister of Culture Jack Lang in 1982 and held annually on June 21st — the summer solstice. The festival was originally conceived by Maurice Fleuret and has since been adopted by over 120 countries. At .920 fineness rather than the more common .999 or .900, the alloy sits in an unusual middle register for French commemorative gold.
