Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse presents the common euro cent design by Luc Luycx, featuring a cartographic representation of Europe in relief against a finely lined background, with the continent depicted without internal borders to symbolise European unity. The large numeral 50 appears prominently to the left of the map, with the denomination inscription EURO CENT arranged vertically to the right. Twelve five-pointed stars, referencing the flag of the European Union, are positioned along the lower arc of the coin's field. The initials LL, denoting engraver Luc Luycx, appear discreetly within the design.

Aanvullende informatie

Cyprus joined the eurozone on 1 January 2008, ending the Cyprus pound after more than four decades — a currency that had itself replaced British colonial coinage only in 1963. The island's euro adoption required a formal EU Council decision taken in July 2007, just months after reunification negotiations had again stalled, meaning the monetary transition proceeded against a backdrop of continued political division between the Republic and the Turkish-administered north.

The KM#83 attribution places this squarely within the standard euro coinage framework administered jointly by the ECB and the issuing national central bank.
