| 备注 |
Bradbury Wilkinson held a near-monopoly on Portuguese banknote contracts during the early twentieth century, and this series reflects that relationship — the London-engraved intaglio work was considerably finer than anything Banco de Portugal's domestic printers could produce at the time. The seven-year span between first and last print dates indicates a long run with periodic reissuance rather than a single print order, which is typical for how Bradbury Wilkinson managed large colonial and European contracts of this period.
Watermark-only security was already considered minimal by 1920 standards. The absence of more sophisticated features reflects postwar austerity in specification, not in execution.
