| Beschrijving voorzijde | This note represents the left half of the original 100 Drachmai note (P-53), bisected by government decree in 1922 to create emergency 50 Drachmai currency. The left half carries an intaglio portrait vignette of a male figure set within an ornate circular guilloche frame, surrounded by intricate lathe-work underprint in purple and brown. Denomination numerals '100' appear at top and bottom within the guilloche border, with the issuer inscription 'ΕΘΝΙΚΗ ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑ' at upper right and two manuscript signatures below, accompanied by a red serial number. |

A detailed intaglio vignette of the Parthenon on the Athenian Acropolis occupies the left portion, rendered in fine line engraving against a lightly shaded background. To the right, a large central guilloche rosette contains the numeral '100', flanked by ornate lathe-work patterns in purple and orange-brown; the lower margin carries the inscriptions 'DE GRECE' and 'ΔΕΚΑΤΗ', with the printer's imprint 'AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY' at bottom left. |
