| Obverse description | This note represents the left half of the original 100 Drachmai note (P-53), bisected by government decree in 1922 to create emergency 50 Drachmai currency. The left half carries an intaglio portrait vignette of a male figure set within an ornate circular guilloche frame, surrounded by intricate lathe-work underprint in purple and brown. Denomination numerals '100' appear at top and bottom within the guilloche border, with the issuer inscription 'ΕΘΝΙΚΗ ΤΡΑΠΕΖΑ' at upper right and two manuscript signatures below, accompanied by a red serial number. |
