50 Dollars Saab J35 Draken

The Marshall Islands issued a sprawling series of commemorative silver dollars throughout the 1990s, many targeting European aviation collectors with subjects that had no geographic connection to the issuing nation whatsoever. The Draken — Sweden's double-delta supersonic interceptor — entered service with the Swedish Air Force in 1960 and was later operated by Austria, Denmark, and Finland. It remained in Swedish frontline service until 1999, meaning this coin was struck while the aircraft was still flying.

Mintage controls on this series were loose, and secondary market values have remained modest despite the silver content.
