Opmerkingen

The 2012 issue marks the fiftieth anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago's independence from Britain, achieved on 31 August 1962. De La Rue printed the commemorative series at their Loughton facility, and the $50 denomination was part of a broader jubilee release rather than a routine currency replacement — the standard polymer $50 was already in circulation alongside it.

P#53 is a paper issue, notable given that Trinidad and Tobago had been migrating portions of its circulating currency to polymer substrate during this period.
