| 正面描述 | The obverse displays the official seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands at center, depicting a traditional Marshallese stick chart (rebbelib) at the base, a frigate bird with outstretched wings in the middle ground, flanked by palm trees to the left and a traditional outrigger sailing canoe to the right, with a radiant sun above and two crossed traditional implements. The seal is encircled by a decorative chain border. The legend 'REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS' arcs along the upper periphery, with the denomination '$50' at the left and the date '1995' at the right. Along the lower border the Marshallese motto 'JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN' is inscribed, and a cartouche bearing the word 'SEAL' appears at the base of the central design. |

The Marshall Islands began issuing commemorative coinage under U.S. administration and continued aggressively after gaining sovereignty in 1986, producing an enormous volume of themed silver rounds throughout the 1990s — many of which were sold directly to collectors and never intended for circulation. The F-4 Phantom II issue fits squarely into that program, which drew consistent criticism from numismatists for prioritizing topical appeal over mintage discipline.
McDonnell Douglas delivered the first production F-4 to the Navy in 1960. By the time this coin was struck, the airframe had logged over three decades of combat across Vietnam, the Middle East, and multiple allied air forces.
