Reverse description Central motif comprising a large, vibrantly coloured red glass poinsettia blossom set at the heart of a symmetrical arrangement of engraved poinsettia leaves, winter berries, pine boughs, and cedar sprigs rendered in high relief against a polished field. The poinsettia's centre is embellished with shimmering gold foil stamens, providing vivid contrast to the surrounding frosted silver botanical elements. The mint mark 'MC' appears to the lower left of the central design. The legend 'CANADA' arcs along the upper rim, the date '2018' is positioned to the right, and the denomination '50 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower rim.

Additional information

The Holiday Splendour series represents the Royal Canadian Mint's push into the ultra-high-relief collector market, where .9999 fine silver at this diameter and weight competes directly with privately minted art rounds rather than anything resembling circulating coinage. The 2018 issue was produced in a strictly limited mintage with no secondary striking runs — once sold out, the dies were retired.
