Obverse description The right field bears a front-facing crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Kokoshnik Tiara, with the Coat of Arms of Belize at lower right. The central vignette presents the Altun Ha Maya temple, while a vignette of the Queen Angelfish (Holacanthus ciliaris) occupies the upper left field. The entire design is executed on a gold foil-bonded substrate, with the national motto and commemorative inscriptions completing the composition.
