The lower half of the egg opens to reveal a highly detailed relief of the miniature golden coronation carriage, faithfully reproducing the surprise contained within the historical Fabergé piece. An ornate scrollwork cartouche adorns the bottom of the field, and a border of raised beading frames the entire oval composition.
