Tutankhamun ruled for roughly nine years before dying around age eighteen or nineteen — cause of death still disputed, with malaria, bone disease, and a chariot accident all proposed at various points. His tomb, discovered by Howard Carter in November 1922, was notable precisely because it had been nearly undisturbed; two earlier intrusions had occurred but were apparently interrupted. The "Eighteenth Dynasty" designation on this coin is accurate, though Tutankhamun's place within it was complicated by his predecessor Akhenaten's religious reforms, which the young king was pressured to reverse.
Fiji's involvement is purely fiduciary — the island nation has issued commemorative silver in this format extensively for the collector market, with no domestic connection to the subject matter.
