Obverse description The obverse displays the Public Seal of Niue at centre, depicting a stylised floral motif enclosed within a circular legend reading PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE, surmounted by a royal crown. The seal is flanked by decorative foliate and diamond-shaped ornamental elements, with two crossed traditional Niuean paddles rendered in relief below. The field throughout is embellished with a striking pointillist texture composed of numerous raised and recessed spherical dots of varying sizes, creating a dynamic visual effect. The denomination FIFTY DOLLARS is inscribed in bold relief along the upper arc, while the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI appears on a ribbon beneath the seal. The date 2023 is displayed along the lower rim, with the mint mark and fineness mark Ag999 visible to the right of the central device.

Reverse description The reverse presents a striking artistic portrait of a rabbit rendered entirely in a pointillist technique, with the image composed of hundreds of raised spherical dots and inset crystals of varying sizes across the entire field. The rabbit is depicted in close-up profile, its facial features — including the eye, nose, and fur texture — suggested purely through the contrast of polished, matte, and dark-toned spherical elements. Numerous faceted crystal stones are set at intervals throughout the field, adding brilliance and a three-dimensional optical quality to the composition. The design references the Chinese zodiac year of the Water Rabbit (2023) in a contemporary and highly decorative artistic style. No inscriptions or legends appear on this face, the design serving as a purely pictorial and ornamental composition.
