| 背面描述 | Printed entirely in blue, the reverse is dominated by an elaborate lathe-work guilloche design composed of three large interlocking rosette medallions, filled with fine engine-turned geometric patterns. The word BRITISH appears in a cartouche within the left medallion and HONDURAS in the right, set against a dense, symmetrical floral and scroll surround covering the full face of the note. |

| 备注 |
British Honduras issued paper currency under direct government authority rather than through a chartered bank — unusual for a British colony of its size at the time. The 1895 series, of which P#12 is the highest denomination, was printed by De La Rue under what were likely very small press runs; a $50 note in a colony with limited commercial activity and a predominantly laboring economy would have circulated almost exclusively among merchants, plantation operators, and crown officials.
Surviving examples are genuinely rare. High-denomination colonial issues of this period were rarely saved — they were used, redeemed, and destroyed.
