Obverse description Left-facing effigy of King George V, rendered in high relief after the design by Sir Edgar Bertram MacKennal. The king is depicted bare-headed with a mature portrait, wearing robes with a visible collar. The surrounding legend reads GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND: IMP:, separated by the truncation of the bust at the lower field. The portrait is contained within the inner border of the coin, with the legend occupying the outer rim.
