| Beschrijving keerzijde | A colourised depiction of an offshore gas processing platform set against a blue sky with clouds, rendered in polychrome enamel applied to the inner field of the annular sector. A tall flare stack rises from the central structure, topped by a vivid orange and yellow flame. The sea appears in blue at the base of the composition. The date 2006 is inscribed in the upper right of the field, and the legend GAS INDUSTRY & runs along the curved outer border on a black enamelled band, this piece forming the fourth segment of a four-part divisible series commemorating the oil production and gas industry. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
One of four coins in Cook Islands' 2006 series documenting the petroleum industry, this piece was issued during a period when Pacific island nations were actively courting offshore energy investment as a revenue strategy. Cook Islands itself has no oil production — the series is commemorative in the purest sense, celebrating an industry entirely foreign to the issuing territory.
KM# 1344 closes the four-part set.
