| 正面描述 | Fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. The sovereign's bare neck and shoulders are depicted in a refined, naturalistic style characteristic of the Rank-Broadley series. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 50 CENTS, with the date 2011 and the silver content designation 1/2oz 999 SILVER also inscribed in the field. The initials IRB appear below the truncation, identifying the engraver. |

| 背面描述 | Centrally depicted is a full-colour pad-printed Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) swimming diagonally across the field from lower left to upper right, rendered in naturalistic tones of brown, amber, and green with fine scute detailing on the carapace and scaled patterning on the flippers. The background is divided into two contrasting zones: a smooth white upper-left quadrant and a lower-right field decorated with concentric arc lines evoking ocean currents or coral reef topography. The series title AUSTRALIAN SEA LIFE II THE REEF is inscribed in relief along the upper left arc, with the word REEF rendered in bold large lettering. The species name HAWKSBILL TURTLE appears along the lower arc in smaller incuse lettering. The Perth Mint's P mintmark is positioned to the left of the turtle in the field. |

The pad-printing process used here — a technique borrowed from industrial product decoration — was adopted by the Perth Mint in the late 2000s to achieve full-color surface detail without the tonal limitations of traditional enameling. It remains prone to handling sensitivity, and examples with intact color uniformity across the shell patterning are harder to find than the mintage figures suggest.
