| Opis rewersu | The central device depicts a mounted Australian Light Horse soldier on a rearing horse, rendered in fine relief against a lightly textured field, evoking the spirit of the Australian contingents who served in the South African conflict. Flanking the equestrian figure are sprigs of wattle, the national floral emblem of Australia, and the denomination 50 appears to the left within the wreath arrangement.
