| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a finely engraved depiction of HM Bark Endeavour, Captain James Cook's celebrated exploration vessel, under full sail on a choppy sea with a mountainous coastline visible to the left, evoking Cook's voyages to New Zealand. The large numeral 50 appears prominently in the upper left field, and the ship's name ENDEAVOUR is inscribed in the lower exergual area. The engraver's initials JB (James Berry) are discreetly placed to the lower right of the rigging. The composition conveys both the grandeur of the square-rigged ship and the rugged New Zealand landscape. |
