| 备注 |
Canadian Tire "money" occupies a genuinely odd legal category: it is not currency, not a gift certificate in the traditional sense, but a private loyalty scrip with no expiry date, issued in denominations modeled deliberately on Bank of Canada notes. The Canadian Bank Note Company — the same Ottawa-based security printer responsible for federal government issues — has printed the series, lending it a production pedigree that most retailers' promotional instruments simply don't have.
By the mid-1980s, Canadian Tire scrip had developed a secondary economy of its own, traded between collectors and redeemed by third parties who had never shopped at the stores. The 1985 date falls within a transitional redesign period for the series.
