Vélez-Blanco is a small municipality in the Almería province of Andalusia, and like hundreds of Spanish towns during the Civil War, its ayuntamiento issued fractional emergency paper when Republican-zone coin shortages made small change effectively impossible to obtain. These local emisiones of 1937 were produced under no central authority — each municipality improvised its own design, authorization stamp, and print run, sometimes on whatever paper was at hand.
The Gari Montllor reference number is unassigned, which typically indicates the note was documented but not fully catalogued at time of publication, or that surviving examples were too scarce to establish a reliable type entry.
