Pardines is a tiny Pyrenean municipality in the comarca of Ripollès — population measured in the hundreds even today — which makes its issuance of emergency paper money during the Spanish Civil War both remarkable and entirely typical of the Republican zone's fragmented monetary response. When the Republic's central supply of small change collapsed in 1937, thousands of municipalities printed their own. Pardines was among the smallest to do so.
Turró catalogues this as #1782, placing it within the vast documentation of Catalan Civil War locals. Survival rate for notes from settlements this size is unpredictable — low print runs, rough wartime handling, and no formal redemption process.
