Opmerkingen

The Consejo Municipal de Frailes was one of dozens of small Spanish Republican municipalities that issued emergency fractional paper during the Civil War after metallic coin effectively disappeared from circulation in 1936–37. These local emissions — often produced by whatever printer was accessible — were technically unauthorized at the national level but tolerated out of necessity. Frailes is a small municipality in Jaén province, and its issues are among the more obscure Andalusian locals, rarely appearing in international trade.
