Beschrijving voorzijde The Venezuelan national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield with a white horse in the lower section, a sheaf of wheat and crossed flags and weapons in the upper quarters, and a cornucopia to the right. The legend REPUBLICA DE VENEZUELA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 50 CENTIMOS, date 1954, weight GR. 2.5, and silver fineness LEI. 835 are inscribed along the lower periphery, all separated by raised dots. The design is rendered in fine relief with a beaded border running along the entire circumference.

Beschrijving keerzijde A bare-headed left-facing portrait bust of Simon Bolivar, the Liberator, fills the central field, rendered in the neoclassical style characteristic of engraver A. Barre. The legend BOLIVAR arcs along the upper left periphery and LIBERTADOR along the upper right, flanking the portrait. The engraver's signature BARRE appears in small capitals at the base of the bust near the lower rim. The portrait is executed with fine detail in the hair and facial features, framed by a beaded border.
